There are three public universities that reside in the city limits: University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). Private schools in the city include the University of Southern California (USC), Antioch University's Los Angeles campus, Loyola Marymount University, Mount St. Mary's College, Occidental College, Art Center College of Design, Southwestern University School of Law, American Film Institute Conservatory, Charles R. Drew University, Southern California Institute of Architecture, Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising's Los Angeles campus (FIDM), and Los Angeles Film School.

Few places like LA have such famous neighborhoods cities like: Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Hollywood, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Marina del Rey, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica and Toluca Lake. Housing costs vary greatly throughout the Los Angeles area, depending on the specific neighborhood in question. Beautiful beachside areas such as Santa Monica and Malibu boast some of the most expensive housing costs in the area along with their ocean views. Other posh neighborhoods include Brentwood, Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills area, where housing costs can easily run into the tens of millions.
