We have lived here since December, 2002, and were the third house to be built in Woodridge. We have seen this neighborhood develop from wooded lots to a fully completed neighborhood over the 7 years we’ve been here. We are currently have the longest “tenure” in the neighborhood, as all of the other homes have either been sold to newer residents, or re-sold to newer families.
We absolutely love this neighborhood, and if we were not moving due to a new job offer in Florida, we would remain here to watch our kids grow up in this house.
The neighbors in Woodridge are wonderful, friendly and kind. There are children across the street in both homes, middle school aged kids on both sides of us, and several high school kids. Several older and retired couples live across and down the street.
There is only one way in, and out of Woodridge, meaning that traffic is minimal. Our kids can cross the street without worry of speeding thru-traffic. No other homes will be built around this neighborhood, meaning that the property value will only appreciate as time goes on. No additional roads can be connected into Woodridge from the Summit, or other neighborhoods, which protects our value as well.
Easily, the most enjoyable part of this home is the balance of light in the house. It is bright, and cheerful. The sun rises shines on the front of the house all day, without shining directly on the front of the house. In other words, the sun travels over our house lengthwise every day. The deck stays mostly in the shade, until the evening. The front and backyard have sun all day. The house is bright and enjoyable, which is probably the largest reason why Jen enjoys staying at home during the day. It is not depressing, and dark. You can see out over the entire neighborhood from the front, and the entire backyard in the rear of the house.
We enjoy having the four bedrooms all upstairs, it adds a great deal of privacy when guests come over to the house to visit. Our kitchen is usually the center point of visitors, however the large deck out back is where we spend a majority of the time when we have company. Our kids enjoy the large back yard, and we enjoy the safety of the fenced in yard.
The master bedroom suite has two walk in closets. The closet in the bathroom is a walk in vanity for shoes, makeup and purses, a huge mirror, so it’s great for when you want to get ready for a special occasion.
The bathroom has a HUGE garden tub, larger than any other bathtub we’ve seen in all of Lake Carolina. We installed a flat screen TV in the bathroom, and the kids usually take a few baths every week in it while watching Dora the Explorer. Of course, cranking up the hot water and jets and watching CNN is not bad after a long day either. The shower is private as well for when we are both trying to use the bathroom at once.
The other three bedrooms are great, one has a full walk in closet, the other two have regular closets. Lots of light in the front rooms with double windows, and a nice room in the back for the older child/teenager. Attic access is in the back room, and we added some extra flooring in the attic for all the holiday decorations and baby clothes we have.
The dining room is great, right next to the kitchen which we absolutely love. Not many of these homes have islands in the kitchens, we have thoroughly enjoyed the room it provides for cooking. Our family mostly eats in the kitchen dining area, but entertaining is done in the dining room.
The family room is exactly that. We watch movies, turn on the fireplace in the winter and hang out. Actually, we probably spend half of our time in the house between the kitchen and the family room. It’s great for the daily work of paying bills, talking on the phone, doing homework and eating meals.
House is currently occupied, will be available on Dec 15th, 2009.
