Why should I place ads on this website when other sites are free?
In a word...EXPOSURE. The purpose of your advertising is to rent properties quickly. Listing your properties on a free Web site doesn't help fill your vacancies if potential tenants can't find your properties. Rentals.com provides your property listings with the features and exposure you need to find qualified renters to keep your properties rented. Landlords and property managers have found that advertising on Rentals.com offers the best "bang for the buck." We believe you will, too.
How many pictures can I upload to each ad?
When placing your ad, the web site will take you through the process of adding photos step-by-step. You can add photos to an existing ad by logging into Rentals.com and clicking "Manage My Ads." Then click the ad number for the property to bring up the Control Panel for the ad. Click "Manage Images" to bring up the Image Manager. Click "Browse" to launch the file browser. Navigate the browser to your photos. Select one photo at a time and then click the next "Browse" button to select another photo. When all photos have been chosen, click “Upload Images”. You can also email your photos to photos @ rentals.com. Make sure you include the ad number in the email message. If you are receiving a “timeout” or Page Cannot Be Displayed error, it is possible that your photos are above the recommended 100kb size for optimal uploading. You may resize your pictures, or email them to photos @ rentals.com, and we will be happy to resize and upload them for you.
How do I place a photo for an ad?
Photos can be included in your ad at no additional charge. You can upload an unlimited number of photos to each rental ad. These photos can be exterior pictures of the property, floor plans, interior shots, etc.
Why place an ad for my properties online?
The internet is quickly becoming the place where property searches are beginning and ending. Today’s renters are internet savvy and are more comfortable searching for properties online. Print ads have become too expensive and do not convey quality information to people searching for rental properties. In addition, most out-of-town people will not look in local papers; they will search on the internet. By effectively marketing our Web site to potential tenants, we ensure that millions of targeted rental customers view your property listings, in your community and nationwide.
How do I change the information in my ads, or update my profile?
Log into the web site using your email address and the password you chose when you first registered. Once you have logged in, you will see links on the left side of your screen specific to your ads and profile. Clicking on the "Manage My Ads" link will take you to your rental ads. You can then click the ad number link to access the Control Panel for that ad. From the Control Panel, you can edit the ad information, manage images, etc. Please Note: To make corrections to the property address you must email them to our customer service department (the address is the only portion of the rental ad that you cannot edit once it has been entered). To change your password or profile information, click on the "User Info" link at the left of the screen. Please note that changes to your User Info do not take effect in your existing ads.
What is the difference between "Active Ads" and "Inactive Ads"?

What if I forget my user name or password?
Your Rentals.com username is the email address you used when registering. If you forget your password, click on the "Login" link and then click on the "Retrieve Password" link. Enter your email address and click "Submit." An email with your password will automatically be sent to you. If it's more convenient for you to call us, dial 1-888-501-RENT(7368). We're here to answer your questions Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
How do I place an ad?
Placing an ad is very easy. The first step is to click the "Register" link located at the top of the page. Once you register, you will be logged into the web site and ready to place an ad. Click the "Create New Ad" link located at the top of the page. Next, choose the type of ad you would like to purchase (Standard, Featured or Premier). Enter the property address and click "Submit." Fill in the necessary information about your property. Be descriptive and thorough so potential tenants can learn as much as possible about your property. Once you have entered all the necessary information, click on the "Next Step" button to continue to the Image Manager. Images are optional and can be uploaded in this step or after placing your ad. Click "Next Step" when you are finished with the Image Manager. You will be taken to the Shopping Cart. From the Shopping Cart you can click "Create New Ad" to create another ad or click "Next Step" to continue to the payment area and purchase the ad.
After I place an ad, how long until people can find it on the internet?
Instantly! As soon as you are done using our easy-to-use ad placement wizard and shopping cart checkout!
What happens after my ad expires?
To ensure our customers receive the full benefit of placing an ad on Rentals.com, ads cannot be renewed until two days before the expiration date. Two days before your ad expires you will be sent an expiration email which notifies you that your expiration date is approaching. Click the link in the expiration email to log into Rentals.com and access your list of ads. To renew your listing, add the ad to your shopping cart and continue to the payment area. If your ad expires from the web site before you have a chance to renew it, do not worry because it will be saved and you can renew it at a later date. If this does happen, you will need to log into the web site with your username and password. After you are logged in, click the "Manage My Ads" link to access your list of ads. If your ad has expired you can add it to your shopping cart and continue to the payment area to purchase the ad.
How do people contact me if they are interested in my ads?
There are two ways people can contact you concerning the properties you have posted on the web site. Potential tenants can call you directly by using the phone number you have provided in the Contact Information section of the ad. To send you an email, the potential tenant can complete the "Contact Property Owner/Manager" form at the bottom of the ad. (Your email address is not displayed anywhere on the site.) When this form is submitted, an email will be sent to the contact email address you provided. You will receive an email with "Reply to Rentals Ad" in the subject line.

You can view your email replies from the last 60 days by logging into the Web site and clicking the "Ad Replies" link.
My property is rented, can I get a partial refund or credit for unused time?
Rentals.com does not offer discounts or refunds when properties are rented. The listing fee covers the posting of your rental ad for up to 30 days. We appreciate your business and hope you are satisfied with the money you saved by using Rentals.com versus the local paper!

Will this increase the price of my ads?
The price of RentClicks ads will not change. However, the price of HomeRentalAds.com ads will change slightly. We will be repackaging our offerings to offer you unprecedented value and benefits to fit your needs and are committed to providing the same great service and value we always have. Can I still get discounts for multiple listings?
Each market and metro area handles their discount program separately. Please contact your account executive for specific details relating to your portfolio.
Do I have to re-key all my ads into the new site?
Your existing RentClicks listings will automatically be forwarded to Rentals.com in July 2007. Listings on HomeRentalAds.com will need to be manually transferred to Rentals.com. Please contact customer service for instructions on this process.
Can I still pre-pay my ads?
Yes you can. If this is a practice you are accustomed to, we’re happy to receive pre-payment for your advertising. Please contact your account executive for specific details relating to your portfolio.
What is ApartmentGuide.com, and how do they fit into the mix?
ApartmentGuide.com is the largest multi-housing listing service on the Internet and is the online partner site to the well-known Apartment Guide publications circulated throughout the nation. In an effort to provide the largest and most comprehensive Real Estate rental site to consumers, Rentals.com posts ApartmentGuide.com listings in the multi-housing section of the site.
How will the relationship with my account executive or customer service rep be affected?
At this point, your relationship with your account executive and/or customer service representative won’t be affected at all. You can expect the same great service and customer care you’ve grown accustomed to with our company.
