How do I use Rentals.com?

Rentals.com never requires registration to view ads and you will always be able to view ads for free. Registration will only be required to use some of our advanced features like "My Favorites" or the "My Alerts " feature.

1. Search for properties that meet your criteria by selecting a price range, area, pet policy, or type of unit.
2. View Details of the properties that you like.
3. Add properties to your favorites. Registration is necessary for you to create a favorites page, as our software requires a place to save your favorites. We will not contact you, and we will not share any of your information. This is purely voluntary.
4. Access your favorites page by selecting "My Favorites". This will bring up only the properties that you have added.
5. Drive by your favorites. Use our map feature to help you find the properties and get driving directions.
6. Pick the properties that you are interested in and schedule showings for those properties by calling the company or person that listed the ad. If you like our service, we would greatly appreciate you telling them "I saw your ad on Rentals.com."
7. Pick your favorite property and rent it. Again, we would appreciate it if you would tell them where you found the ad.

Does it cost anything to search for properties?

Never! As a prospective tenant, Rentals.com is always free to search for available properties. Although we would recommend it, you do not even have to register if you don't want to. We will NEVER give out our registered user information to a third party-your contact information is safe with us.

How do I find a property?

Rentals.com offers the most powerful, flexible search tools available. Begin your search by clicking on the nearest metropolitan area. From that page, you can choose the category of home you are most interested in by clicking on its representative photo. You can also use the powerful search feature on the left side of the website. From there you can filter your results by the type of property, location, and price range. Also, the "What's New" link will show you the newest ads posted to the website.

How do I get additional information about the properties I like?

When you see a property you are interested in, click on the "View Details" button for that ad. You will see the property manager's name and contact information. You can directly contact the property manager from this information, or you can click the "Contact Landlord" button to send an email through the website.

How come there are no rentals in my area?

Rentals.com is a website where many different landlords and property managers post advertisements for vacancies on any rental properties they may have.

The inventory changes quite frequently (and sometimes can be very low), but everything that is available from landlords and property managers that use our website, will be posted. If no ads come up in a search, then we currently have no advertisements that meet your criteria. Please continue checking on our website periodically for new rental ads.

Why would I want to become a registered user?

By registering on the website, you can place your favorite rental ads in the "My Favorites" folder where they will always be saved. Also by registering, you can fill out your preferences in the "My Alerts" section and receive automatic email notifications when new ads meet your preferences. By registering on the site you can simply click the "Contact Landlord" button for an ad and your email and contact info is automatically inserted into the email template.

What if I forget my user name or password?

From the login page click on the "Retrieve Password" link. An email with your username or password will automatically be sent to you.
