Mira Loma was a community located in Riverside County. The land is now part of Jurupa Valley and Eastvale.   • Initially, Native Americans inhabited the land. It was then taken over by the Mexicans.
  • The land has always been used for agriculture and was initially a large exporter of dairy.
  • The area of Jurupa Valley was given by the Mexican government in 1838. Land grants were dealt to wealthy Mexican patrons to try to encourage them to colonize the area and buy livestock. The land in Riverside was shared by San Bernardino and San Diego counties until 1893 when Riverside County was created.
  • During the 1950's, several settlers in Los Angeles began to move to more rural areas. Many dairy farmers arrived to raise livestock in the Valley. A lot of these farms were owned by Dutch and Portuguese families. 
  • The town was originally named Wineville it was later changed to Mira Loma in the 1930s.
  • In 2010, the town was divided into two separate towns, Jurupa Valley and Eastvale. Each of the communities were incorporated into the state in 2011 and 2007, respectively.
