Cutler Bay, formerly called Cutler Ridge, is located in southeastern Florida, just south of Cutler and Kendall. The suburban community, incorporated in 2005, is part of Miami-Dade County. • Cutler Bay was incorporated at the beginning of the 21st century, and its name was changed. It's governed by a mayor and five-member town council.
• In 1838, Dr. William Cutler, whom the town is named after, bought a 600-acre portion of land in the area to establish a fruit and vegetable plantation. He paid approximately $750 for the land. 
• The Charles Deering Estate is located in Cutler Bay. The estate includes the Cutler Fossil Site, where the remains of mammoths, saber-tooth tigers and condors were unearthed in the 1970s. There are also Tesquesta burial mounds on the estate. 
• Cutler Bay is home to the College of Business and Technology, which offers a number of academic, technical and vocational programs.
