Facts for Renters
The nearby city of Warner Robins was founded in 1942 thanks to the community of Wellston.
Some of the land in the area started with Robins Air Force Base and the Lewis B. Wilson Airport. The local railway station had only six houses, one service station and one general store.
Wellston was named after the chief engineer of the railroad, William H. Wells.
In 1941, the area was deemed suitable for a army base, even though the townspeople of Wellston didn't want one.
The war changed the residents, as labor was scarce and even women began to join the workforce - an uncommon thing for the time.
The first mayor of Warner Robins was known for conducting business from his front porch.
