East Norwich is a hamlet in the town of Oyster Bay. In addition to being within Oyster Bay's boundaries, it also abuts the village of Oyster Bay in the north where there's a popular downtown area on the harbor. East Norwich, which is composed mainly of suburban streets, is also near Syosset and Upper Brookville. Homes for rent in East Norwich are in a great location, just minutes from the harbor or beaches in Oyster Bay and 45 minutes from Manhattan by car. East Norwich is also home to the large, beautiful Pine Hollow Country Club.

Norwich was likely named for prominent Oyster Bay residents James and George Townsend's father's birthplace, Norwich, England. The area officially became East Norwich in 1861 to differentiate it from Norwich, north of Binghamton in upstate New York.
