We’re changing the face of Rentals.com….literally. Starting with the addition of a brand new landing page we’ll be ushering in changes that will make the member experience at Rentals.com more intuitive, informative, efficient and dare we say, stylish. We’ve been able to make these changes based on the valuable feedback that you’ve provided. Of all the great features that we’re adding, two stand out, the new Manage My Ads and new Property Management Homepage.
On the new Property Management Homepage members will be able to view expiration alerts displayed prominently at the top of the page. Members will also notice other additions like Rentals news and updates as well as “just for fun” information. Future updates include an activity level display and sales representative information.
Great new features can also be found on the Manage My Ads page where you’ll, now, be able to deactivate and renew multiple ads with one click, upgrade and review ads at-a-glance with a new ad table complete with ad level and ad reply columns. This completely new design has been a direct result of feedback from our customers during its beta stage. We are proud of the collaborative effort that has yielded such a dynamic addition to the Rentals experience.
At Rentals.com we’re not afraid to move forward and break the chains of routine. We understand that change is good and the steps we take now make a better and brighter tomorrow.
As always, we’d love to hear from you. If you’d like to comment on the changes you see email us at comments@rentals.com.

It seems that everyday there is a new development in the rental Real Estate market. Read about the effects that tightening home credit has on the rental market in the Sun-News. “We are experiencing good activity in all price ranges,” said Brenda Parish of GMAC Real Estate in Las Cruces.
You can also find out why “The new darling child of multifamily residential is rental,” in the Atlanta Journal- Constitution. Soft condo sales are making the case for high rise multi-family apartments, which could mean more competition for the home rental market.
Rob’s Tips
Pre-Leasing Can Reduce Lost Rent
Pre-leasing an upcoming vacancy is a great method for reducing vacancy down time. Marketing a property which is still occupied can really help accomplish this but keep several factors in mind.
1) What do your local landlord and tenant laws and lease permit with respect to entry to an occupied unit?
2) What is your relationship with your current resident?
3) How well is your current resident keeping the inside of your rental home?
Attempting to show a rental house with an uncooperative current resident is inviting a difficult task at best. Showing a property that is unkempt or not clean may do more harm than good.
Answering these three questions will help you determine whether or not pre-leasing is an option for you.
