Avid golfers will want to check out Indian Peaks Golf Course, which consistently ranks as one of the top public golf facilities in the state, while history buffs can head to the Lafayette Miners Museum for a glimpse into the city's history. The city also hosts a number of events each year, from the Oatmeal Festival in January to the Great Pumpkin Race and Turkey Shoot in the fall. The third Fridays in May through September are dedicated to Art Night Out, a community arts event in the Old Town section of the city that includes live music, art exhibitions, children's activities and more.
