The biggest of the city's nine parks, South Gate Park sprawls across 96 acres and includes a senior citizen building, an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool, multiple tennis courts, baseball fields and indoor and outdoor basketball courts. Of the other parks, the Gardendale Tot Lot is dedicated specifically to children. Meanwhile, shopaholics can rejoice - there are almost as many shopping meccas as parks, from the Tweedy Mile and Hollydale business districts to the El Paseo Shopping and Entertainment Center, the latter of which houses a state-of-the-art, 21-screen movie theater.
