North Charleston offers sprawling neighborhoods with a wide range of features, including day care, golf, fishing, and playgrounds. Some developments offer jogging trails and fitness centers for residents.

Once considered a retreat from the mosquito-laden marshes of the lowcountry for plantation owners. Summerville offers a small town atmosphere, where you can sit and chat with a friend in one of the many rocking chairs placed outside shops in downtown. Summerville offers easy access to South Carolina beaches as well as a haven for golf enthusiasts.
