Clementon is a community in western New Jersey, crouched to the east of Gloucester Township, about 10 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The small borough measures just two square miles that surround Clementon Lake, though about 5,000 people reside in local homes and rentals. Set in the center of Camden County, homes for rent in Clementon provide convenient access to the job opportunities and entertainment options in Camden, Wilmington and Philadelphia, while offering suburban tranquility. Among the most popular areas in Philadelphia, Clementon continues to attract new residents with its charming neighborhoods, community events and attractions, including one of the region's oldest amusement parks.
Settled in 1735, Clementon was able to thrive during the 1800s due to its position on the Philadelphia and Atlantic City Railroad, and its location on Timber Creek, which provided water power for the many saw mills and grist mills that spurred the local economy. Today, homes for rent are scattered among the residential neighborhoods that surround Clementon Lake, Pilling Lake, Bottom Lake and Silver Lake. These small bodies of water are all located on the center of town, near the Clementon Amusement Park and Splash World, one of the borough's several recreation options.
The amusement park, perhaps the biggest attraction of Clementon, has been operating since 1907, and now features a wide array of water rides and roller coasters. The Jack Rabbit, a wooden roller coaster built in 1919, was recently put out of services, but options now include exciting thrill rides like the Ring of Fire, Thunder Drop, Hellcat and the Flying Pharaoh. For other entertainment options, those with rentals in Clementon can attend one of the community's many events, including the National Night Out Summer Concert, and Night at the Riversharks for an evening of baseball in nearby Camden.
